I just wrote a response article to issues raised in the media about the appropriation of Indigenous culture and debates about people having the right to imagine other people’s lives. Anyone can imagine anything they want… but to project those things as facts replacing the actual people is part of a colonial mentality that allows the privileged dreamer to turn their fiction into facts.
