What does it feel like to be someone that always looks through other people’s eyes? Can Mike Nelson work from his own experiences or does he need to borrow from everyone else. In many ways we all do the same thing of borrowing but I tend to incorporate those experiences into my own life instead of representing others solely through my art. Perhaps I take things too personally when I look at this exhibition and feel like I am the one on display here. Am I doomed to start making reactionary art pieces to every flaky moron that shows at a major arts space? Perhaps…
